Provisional Psychologist Hub and CatholicCare Victoria have been approved to deliver supervision scholarships nationally between 2026 and 2029. Together, these scholarships support successful internship completion and improved access to psychological services across Australia.

Provisional Psychologist Hub Supporting Provisional Psychologists Scholarship

The Nationally Delivered 5+1 Supervision Scholarship Program supports provisional psychologists across Australia who are completing their internship pathway toward general registration while undertaking part-time psychological practice. Designed specifically for provisional psychologists completing between 17 and 29 hours of psychological practice per week, the program provides structured, high-quality supervision, training, resources, and professional support throughout the internship journey.

We strongly encourage all individuals who meet the essential eligibility criteria to apply. This program is designed to support a diverse range of candidates across different stages, backgrounds, and practice settings, and we welcome applications from those who are committed to developing their skills and contributing to the future psychology workforce.

Priority may be given to applicants working in areas of workforce shortage, regional and rural communities, or priority population groups.

What is Included

Successful scholarship recipients will receive a Gold Membership with Provisional Psychologist Hub, including access to:

  • Up to 95 hours of individual supervision

  • Up to 13 hours of group supervision

  • Primary and Secondary Supervisors

  • National Psychology Exam Training 

  • Professional Development Library

  • Access to Psychometric Assessments

Supervision is delivered at a frequency of 1.5 hours per week across 48 weeks per year, for a period of up to 18 months or until general registration is approved, whichever occurs first.

Employers in MMM3-7 locations with newly commencing interns may be entitled to additional funding to support successful scholarship candidates. 

CatholicCare Victoria Supervision Scholarship

The CatholicCare Victoria Supervision Scholarship supports provisional psychologists across Australia completing their internship pathway toward general registration while undertaking 30 or more hours of psychological practice per week. The program is designed for those committed to completing their internship within 12 months and provides structured, high-quality supervision, targeted training, practical resources, and ongoing professional support that exceeds the minimum requirements of the 5+1 internship program throughout the journey.

Supervision services for the CatholicCare Victoria Supervision Scholarship are delivered exclusively by Provisional Psychologist Hub, ensuring consistent, practice-focused guidance aligned with internship and registration requirements. This partnership has been in place since 2024 and has supported more than 120 scholarship participants, contributing to strong outcomes for both provisional psychologists and the broader psychology workforce. The department has extended CatholicCare Victoria’s program to provide 350 supervision scholarships through to 2029, as a commitment to strengthening the future psychology workforce and improving access to high-quality supervised practice pathways.

CatholicCare Victoria is a participant of CatholicCare Victoria Tasmania (CCVT) and is providing this service on behalf of CCVT.

Are you Eligible?

To be eligible for the CatholicCare Victoria Supervision Scholarship, applicants must meet essential requirements including child safety compliance, cultural accessibility, Australian residency status, and commitment to completing the 5+1 Internship within 12 months. Preference may be given to applicants who identify as First Nations or from CALD backgrounds, are located in MMM 3–7 areas, or work in high-needs roles.
