Frequently Asked Questions

  • I already have secondary supervision or attend group supervision – can I still access your service?

Yes, you can have unlimited secondary supervisors. We provide you with a signed letter to provide to your primary supervisor and submit to the board to allow you to claim group or secondary supervision with us.
  • Does group supervision count towards my overall supervision hours?

Yes, the PsyBA guidelines allow for 60 hours of group supervision in the 4+2 program or 30 hours of group supervision in the 5+1 program. Group supervision is a great way to engage with other provisional psychologists in the same program as you and learn about a broad range of presenting issues, professional practice issues, assessments and experiences. It is also a cost efficient way to obtain supervision at a reduced cost compared to individual supervision. When you sign up, PPH will provide you with a letter to add us as secondary supervisors (you can have unlimited secondary supervisors) and you can (with permission of your principal supervisor) commence immediately (no need to wait for the Board to approve the addition).
  • I live in a small town, how do I access your service?

Our professional development and supervision is all conducted online, via video conferencing software, allowing you to access our service from anywhere in Australia as long as you have a computer, web camera and internet.
  • Will you be able to assist me to meet my competencies for the program?

Yes, the program is designed to meet all of your needs (dependent on which membership you choose). We provide professional development and supervision in line with the requirements of the PsyBA. All supervisors are Board Approved and have extensive experience.
  • I already have a principal and secondary supervisor but require access to an assessment library. What tests are available?

Please go to our internship page to find a full list of assessments for use. Before we permit assessments for hire we need confirmation from your principal supervisor that they are able to provide adequate supervision for the administration, scoring, interpretation and report writing for the selected assessment. If they are unable to do so, we will require you to complete professional development and supervision to demonstrate adequate skill and knowledge.
  • Do I need to pay upfront?

No, you pay as you go or for our memberships you can pay per month and can cancel at anytime.
  • Will you help me complete my internship plan?

Yes, if the Provisional Psychologist Hub is your Principal supervisor you will be provided with templates to assist you in writing your individual internship plan and your PPH supervisor will review it before you to submit it to PsyBA. We have extensive experience in reviewing internship plans and are here to assist you.
  • What about all the other requirements of the PsyBA guidelines such as observations, case reports, etc. – is this included?

Yes, if you join one of our memberships or we act as your Principal supervisor this is included in your supervision. Review and feedback of case reports and observations of practice is provided by your supervisor and can be counted as supervision.
  • I am already half way through my program – can I access your service?

Yes, you can access our service at any point of your internship program. There are no contracts so you can choose how long you would like to be a member. If you need additional supervision, want to save on the cost of individual supervision and complete some group supervision, want to access some professional development or you want everything included we have a membership for you. If you are unsure what you need please contact us – we are here to help.
  • Can I access your service if I am working in addition to placement (5+1 or masters program)

Yes, we provide supervision for 'working in addition to placement' as well as peer supervision for fully registered psychologists and other allied health professionals. We are also able to provide supervision for those completing masters placements who are unable to obtain supervision through their university.
