Preparing for the National Psychology Exam
Apr 11, 2025
At Provisional Psychologist Hub, we are often asked:
“Which workshops are best to undertake when preparing for the National Psychology Exam?”
It’s a great question—and an important one. The National Psychology Exam (NPE) is designed to assess your applied knowledge across the four key competency domains identified by the Psychology Board of Australia. These domains are integral to safe and effective practice, and they form the backbone of your professional development as a psychologist.
Our Approach to Exam Preparation
You’ll find that the professional competencies outlined by the Board are embedded throughout all of our workshops. However, to make your preparation easier, we’ve taken the extra step of collating a selection of our most relevant workshops and categorising them by the four core domains of the exam:
- Ethics
- Assessment
- Intervention
- Communication
Each of these workshops has been selected not only because of their direct alignment with the exam competencies, but also because they offer real-world insight into how these domains show up in everyday clinical practice.
Already Completed Some Workshops?
If you’ve completed any of these workshops in the past, you’ll be pleased to know that you can go back and rewatch the content at any time. This can be a valuable refresher as you prepare for the exam, helping to reinforce your knowledge and give you confidence in applying it under exam conditions.
