CatholicCare Victoria Scholarship Opportunity: Now available for candidates in NSW & QLD, in addition to those places already available in VIC and TAS. 

CatholicCare Victoria, in collaboration with Provisional Psychologist Hub, are pleased to announce an exceptional opportunity for provisional psychologists embarking on the 5+1 Internship Program. Through this unique partnership, a select group of psychologists will receive 12 months of board-approved supervision services via a Provisional Psychologist Hub Platinum membership, valued at over $18,500.

With the approval of the Federal Department of Health, Disability and Ageing, CatholicCare Victoria is extending a limited number of scholarships to candidates in NSW and QLD, in addition to the places already available in VIC and TAS. If you are based in one of these states and meet the eligibility criteria, we encourage you to apply.

Scholarship Details and Eligibility Criteria

This scholarship is a CatholicCare Victoria initiative, with supervision services delivered in partnership with Provisional Psychologist Hub. The following criteria outline the eligibility for applicants:

Essential Criteria:

  • Program Enrolment: You have either started or are planning to start a 5+1 Internship Program on or after May 1, 2024.
  • Provisional Registration: You currently hold registration as a provisional psychologist. 
  • Employment: You are employed in a role that meets the requirements of the 5+1 Internship Program.
  • Child Safety Compliance: You work for an organisation committed to complying with all relevant state and federal legislation when working with children and young people. You must hold, or be eligible to obtain, a valid Working with Children Check and/or Working with Vulnerable People Check applicable to your state and any other state(s) in which you are engaged. Prior to approval of your scholarship, you must ensure that CatholicCare Victoria is listed as an organisation on your Working with Children Check.
  • Cultural Accessibility: You work for an organisation that can confirm their policies, programs, and services are accessible to, and deliver equitable outcomes for, people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.
  • Completion Term: Committed and equipped to complete the 5+1 Internship Program within 12 months from commencement in compliance with the Provisional Psychologist Hub Service Agreement and relevant standards and guidelines provided by the Psychology Board of Australia. 
  • Residency Status: Applicants must be either Australian citizens or holders of permanent residency in Australia.

Desirable Criteria:

  • First Nations Person: Applicants who identify as First Nations people and are accepted as part of this community will be prioritised.
  • CALD Background: Applicants from CALD backgrounds will be given preference.
  • Location: Preference will be given to applicants residing in or working within MMM 3-7 areas.
  • High-Needs Work Role: Applicants working in high-needs roles, such as community mental health or child and youth services, will be prioritised.
